Overview: Good quality, comfortable padded bike shorts ease the jolts of questionable maintained roads and trails. I commute 6-miles one way (wearing a fairly loaded backpack) with a significant portion on a regional commuter trail that NEEDS MAINTENANCE i.e. is replete with 1-2" gaps that will occur in tarmac that isn't maintained often enough. On my rigid road bike with 23 cm wheels those gaps are really only tolerable if you stand. Now I've always worn padded shorts, but after switching to the Baleaf I realized that the jolts are noticeably reduced, so they definitely take the edge off the jarring. I say excellent, as noted above. Thick padding in all the right places definitely takes the edge off those cracks and gaps in the pavement. Material is reasonably breathable, but isn't openly ventilated.

New to cycling and this is my only pair. Actually never even knew things like this existed until my buddies told me I’d need some before my first ride. Not sure how other, more expensive pairs stack up, but my gluteus Maximus is never in pain after a ride! If you’re on a budget or not wanting to drop a lot if you’re just getting into cycling and don’t know if you’ll like it, grab a pair of these. That’s what drew me to these, and now after a few months of riding, they’re holding up well and serving their purpose. I wear a pair of basketball shorts over these... not trying to look like a baboon (I got the blue bottom ones and bright green waistband since they were the cheapest at the time). <ol class="wri
I've worn these for 5 rides so far. Generally around 20 miles a ride. I'm 6'1 around 210 Ibs. I wear a size 36 and I went with the XL. I just got back into biking and wanted to grab a some padded shorts. I went with these. So far they have got the job done making for a more comfortable ride. Don't expect them to fully get rid of saddle discomfort thought. I like that I can wear them under athletic shorts. I went ahead and bought another one, so yeah I would recommend.

I am your basic general issue 5'10" 175 lb male and the "medium" size (also the boxer size I buy normally) fit just right. You don't want these too big or loose unless you are fine with the gel pad moving around. I have a hard performance bike saddle and these under-your-shorts were the best thing to come along. I"m just not comfortable hanging at a microbrewery after a ride for a few hours in skin tight black lycra -- these free you to wear anything you want. Notice a big comfort difference when rides go 20 miles or so and they remain comfortable under your cargos if you stop to eat and relax somewhere along or after the trail. Have washed (and air dried) these a number of times and so far hold up just great. Need to get a couple more of these.

I deal for the casual or infrequent MTB rider who can wear them underneath a regular pair of shorts. They are snug, comfortable and not too tight. the Padding is generous and combined with some 'bum salve', make an excellent combination for a long day in the saddle. No issues with quality, the stitching is strong, symmetrical and robust. I used them to replace a pair of padded Spandex shorts and it was a good decision, much more practical and comfortable.

These shorts have a thicker, more dense material that I think will wear a lot longer than the other pair. You can see the material used in the other pair is very breathable and almost see-through. The Baleaf shorts have a thicker density spandex type of material that, while maybe less breathable, is a tougher material. The gel padding is just the right amount to provide the relief from a hard bicycle seat. I am a new cyclist and this is exactly what I needed.
Biking shorts, a must have. They are comfortable and protect the jewels the way all jewels should be protected. The medium size I got fit perfectly and I am happy as a clam. I feel secure and the padding and cushion is where it needs to be. When I'm done biking I often just leave them on for some time as they are so comfortable. They washed up nicely and this material should last awhile. Let's go biking today!
These are generally OK - fit well, wear well and wash well ... overall design (like others) not ideal for men ... they have a tendency to slip out of place and require periodic adjustment ... the gel padding is insufficiently thick for long rides either on or off-road ... otherwise I think they're OK and recommend them for rides under 20 miles
If you've never had or tried padded bike shorts they are a bit odd feeling at first when you put them on. After a few minutes of riding you no longer notice them. These are something I wouldn't put in the dryer, no matter what the label says. Machine wash, hang to dry. If you are considering some bike shorts for the first time, these are the way to go. Grab a pair and see how they help. If you want to wear regular clothes and not look like the tour de France, these are also what you want.
My husband loves these. They fit great and the padding is good. He likes that he can wear whatever he wants whether shorts, pants or sweats over them. He says they are very comfortable and the waistband is nice and wide so it doesn’t bind. I will probably order another pair. <o
Fits well and feels very comfortable. Will know better after I've been for a ride. Delivered next day with no problems
These are great shorts. I knew I needed padding but had never bought padded shorts before. The picture threw me a little as I imagined I would wearing this blue "baboon butt". Since I exercise at home, I thought "oh well - price is good". LOL - that blue padding is all on the inside of the short - the outside is normal black and the short looks good.
Bought these to wear under my shorts for riding. The quality is very good upon first looking at them. They fit as described so I am happy about that. They are comfortable and I wore them a few times now and just like any padded bike shorts they keep you comfortable for longer rides.
Does the job although it's not as comfortable as I'd hoped... No more sore balls though so that's a good thing. These shorts aren't the most expensive so we get what we pay for. I'm ok with them.
My husband is not athletic, nor does he know how these things are supposed to fit. I got these for him and he found them extremely uncomfortable. Full disclosure, he is 6'3" 210 lbs and well-endowed. I got him the XL I'm not sure getting a larger size would have made a difference.
Got these to wear under my MTB shorts. I bought some MTB shorts a while back that look like regular long shorts. Don't have an MTB bike; I ride a hybrid. The padding is adequate but at about the 18th mille or so my butt, etc start to get pretty uncomfortable. So I got these to try as a second layer. Took them out for a 24 mile test run today, and the combo worked as hoped. I am gone to try wearing them under my regular gym short for shorter rides (under 10 miles) and see how they perform. Also, pay attention to the comments about sizing. I usually wear large under shorts/shorts, but I got these in XL. They fit perfectly. Will be buying another pair for next riding season.
