The students were amazed as they experienced the clear non tasting water this product provided.
More important I'm still alive and I didn't get sick from drinking the toilet water.
They're super lightweight so you don't even notice them in your pack. And we both love the camo design
Good price on a quality product! I recommend this product!
Although I haven't needed to use yet, this water filter appears to be easy to use. And since its a great value for the money, I will be a couple more for my family.
Many gallons of potable water in a survival situation. Be mindful of the condition of the water source as more contamination means less life of the straw.
It also came with an additional replacement filter.
Received quickly and as advertised. I just bought to have for emergencies so I haven't tested the product.
This was a gift for a boy gong on a fishing trip in the mountains. He loved that it clipped on his pack so he doesn't have to dig around for it. Good value for the money.
I can't really attest to how well this filters the water since I didn't run lab tests, but I have drank from rivers after filtering the water through it and haven't gotten sick yet. It's fairly easy to use although you have to be careful so you don't contaminate the drinking water with your wet hands, and the wet plastic bag you collect water with, while filtering.
I don't like things on my back when riding so I never wear hydration packs but instead take bottled water. But this time I decided to only take this filtration unit and fill up when we came across a stream or water feature. WOW! I was able to drink cold mountain water right from a stream or water fall without the worry of getting sick. I used it at least 10 times and it provided me delicious natural water at every stop. Not once did it disappoint.
I purchased this filter to use while back packing, after hiking with someone recently, who had a nice filter pump and realizing I did not have one of my own. I absolutely love the small / compact size, that is still big on performance, filtering as good as the best units available (down to 0.1 micron). I especially enjoy the flexibility of the included equipment, that allows either drinking directly from a water source, filling the water bladder and then filtering the water to fill a water bottle, or drinking filtered water, from the bladder. Back flushing the filter is also easily done using the included plunger / syringe. Great System that will be getting a lot of use.
This filter truly works well. It's easy to clean, it weighs very little and it's easy to use. The one thing is though, you may not be able to use this on any water source. This does not have a charcoal element which means that it will not filter chemicals like pesticides. The upside of this is that's the filter will last forever. You basically just have to be selective of your water source.
Recently bought this for a trip to Cuba where I was told you should only drink bottled water. I was able to use this to drink tap water when bottled water was not available. This filter does screw easily to most water bottles available.
This is great, my water tastes so much cleaner. I almost didn't get one cause I didn't want to give up my CAMELBAK, but I'm glad I did buy it. So if your like me, and obsessed with your CAMELBAK, here's the awesome news... If you cut the straw of your CAMELBAK this water filter fits perfectly
I've used this quite a lot on two wild camping / bothy trips. Recently it was my only source of water for a 4 day, three night wild camping trip and performed very well with running fresh water from rivers and streams and one particularly peaty stream. It provides clean, safe, great-tasting water and literally takes all of the particulate out of the water, even colouring from silt / bogs and I've had no issues from drinking the water from this unit.
I loved this light weight filter! I recently took it on a week long trip across the Sierra Nevada range - Lone Pine to Sequoia. It worked perfectly!
I used this for drinking from a slow-moving stream on a weekend backpacking trip. It's been a few days and I don't seem to have suffered any ill effects from the water so it seems the filter worked. The filter is small and light so it stowed away well in one of my cargo pockets for the duration of my trip.
Small. Easy to use on backpacking trip you need to keep everything light. Cleaning is (relatively) easy. When on a trip you have to make sure you have enough clean water to back wash it for your next use. My biggest issues are that it is hard(almost impossible) to use as a straw, which leads me to believe it won't work well on-line in my hydro pack(haven't tested yet).
I used this water filter to provide drinking water for my wife and I on a wilderness camping trip. The filter is light small and performed perfectly. We noticed nothing strange about the water or it's taste. We were using very clean looking water likely containing "Beaver Fever" and cryptosporidium. We used a 2 liter bottle as a dirty water bottle and found it to be easy but slightly time consuming to squeeze fill our respective Water bottles but still way better than carrying water in. <
