I purchased this to use a microphone to record some videos, and I found this to be the best microphone! It was so reasonable, and the sound quality was really good. I found it very easy to use, and I loved that it was so small and would be clipped to the lapel. I think this is the best option for anyone who needs to record videos on their phone. You just plug it in and press record on your screen, it is literally that simple.

This Boya BY-M1 microphone is the solution for a prototype we have been working on for months. The button battery helps provide power to the signal coming from the microphone as it enters our amplifier. We have tried multiple other commercially available lavalier/lapel microphones which did not have the option of switching on an internal power source and none of them ever worked. We also went so far as to assemble our own electret omnidirectional microphones without any success. In a final analysis we realized we were powering our amplifier circuit but not the microphone through our design. As a last option before complete redesign we tried this microphone and it worked beautifully. For our situation we only need 6 inches of cable from the microphone to the 3.5mm connector so 20 feet is too much for us. However the sound quality is phenomenal.

For the price, we weren't expecting a whole lot, but were very pleasantly surprised. Some of the reviews said the microphone was great and a few said it didn't work at all, but I'm very glad that we bought this one. The sound quality is amazing and the extra long cord is perfectly for interviewing. I bought it to use with a DJI Osmo Pocket and it works perfectly with no special TRS adapter needed! That was definitely a plus. It also works just as good with my Galaxy Android smartphone. It's super simple to use - just add a battery plug it in, and turn it on (for the Osmo Pocket), or leave the power switch 'off' to use with a phone. Your phone will power it while plugged in. The cord could be a little thicker and more durable, but overall, it's an incredible value for the money and we will be buying another one soon. Seriously, the audio quality on this thing is incredible.

The mic works fine and cuts out a lot of background noise. Definitely would recommend and plan to purchase again to have a spare.

No reviews will do a justice to this mic with very good cord length and perfect audio quality. If there is an indicator for the battery level it would have been perfect.

I have tried this mic on a Gopro Hero 8 black and a Canon M50. It will not work on camera setting. It works great on my android phone.

Great value and the fact you can use it on a camera or with a smartphone is a plus. Only downside is the sound quality isn’t perfect, but is still great for a $20 option. I have since bought a second one for our team. <o

This microphone is so sensitive in picking up sound that the background noise is a bit distracting. The air-conditioner and the turtle tank filter were very bothersome. The sound in general is less tinny than the phone's microphone. But, the sound wasn't the deep, rich sound that was advertised on the Youtube channel review.
